Why this is not another design marketplace

The platforms charge you like a partner and treat you like a supplier.

The design marketplaces take a substantial cut, some of them require a membership before you have sold anything, and not one of them puts a hand on the rug. Nobody there checks whether the silk is silk. Our commission sits below theirs, there is no monthly fee and no listing fee, and every piece is physically inspected before a buyer takes delivery.

No fee before you sell

No membership, no monthly charge, no listing fee. You are not paying for the privilege of having inventory sit on a website.

Somebody handles the rug

Burn test, microscopy, knot count, foundation, dye stability, tape measurement, condition map. That is the part no marketplace does, and it is the reason cautious buyers come back to the category.

Your rate is quoted, not averaged

Commission depends on your volume and your average piece value, so we quote it against your actual floor rather than publishing a number that is wrong for almost everybody. Request terms.

How it works

Six steps. Nothing you have to learn.

If you can photograph a rug and get it on a truck, you can use this.

1

List in five minutes

Guided capture walks your salesperson through front, back, fringe, edge, folded corner and pile. The listing will not submit if an angle is missing.

2

A buyer pays

Funds are captured and held by our payments processor. Nobody has the money yet, not the buyer, not you, not us.

3

The rug gets verified

Either you ship it to our Myrtle Beach hub, or for oversize and high value pieces our inspector comes to your floor instead.

4

We put hands on it

Burn test and microscopy, knot count, foundation, dye stability, tape measurement, condition map. Two to four business days.

5

You get paid

Payout releases on inspection sign off. You are not waiting on the buyer's mood or on a monthly settlement cycle.

6

It ships certified

Washed if the buyer wants it washed, then out with a numbered certificate and a permanent record page for the rug.

Shipping, stated plainly

You arrange the shipping. We tell you how to pack it.

We do not quote your freight and we do not book it, because rates depend on your carrier account, your zone and your packed dimensions on the day. Any number we published would be wrong. What we publish instead is how to pack a rug properly and what the carrier limits actually are.

You calculate and book

You measure the finished package, weigh it, pick the service and insure it. You know your own carrier rates better than any estimate we could publish.

We publish the guidance

Carrier limits, the folding technique, an eight step packing sequence and a calculator that tells you whether a specific rug ships parcel or freight.

Or we come to you

Certify in Place means the rug is verified on your floor and ships once, straight to the buyer. There is no inbound package to work out at all.

Most oversize rugs do not need freight. Folded on the width and then rolled, a rug up to 27 feet on the short side stays inside the 108 inch parcel length limit. Weight is what usually decides it: hand knotted wool runs about a pound per square foot, so a 10 by 14 is near the 150 pound ceiling and a 12 by 16 is over it. Work out your specific rug in the calculator.

Outbound, hub to buyerBuyerWe book it and pass the actual cost through with no markup, calculated at the time of shipping.

Value floor. Certified listings have a minimum value, because below it the handling and inspection labour costs more than the sale returns. Rugs under that threshold go on a Basic listing instead: you ship direct to the buyer, there is no seal, commission is lower, and the page states plainly that the rug was not inspected. We do not put the seal on anything we have not touched. The threshold is confirmed with your terms.

For oversize and high value

Certify in Place. We come to you.

For anything that cannot ship parcel, and anything of high value, our inspector travels to your showroom with the bench kit. Microscope, calipers, tape, burn test. The rug is verified on your floor and ships exactly once, straight to the buyer.

What it costs

A per visit fee plus a charge per additional rug inspected in the same visit, which falls away entirely above a threshold. Quoted with your dealer terms, and included on your first batch as a founding dealer.

What it saves

The whole inbound shipment. No packing, no measuring, no weighing, no insuring, no freight booking, and no risk of moving a room size antique twice.

What you get

The same numbered certificate and permanent record page. A buyer cannot tell the difference, because there is none.

The standard

You never have to convince the buyer your rug is real.

A stranger will not send five figures for a rug based on your word and six photographs, and they should not have to. Machine made goods sold as hand knotted, and synthetic sold as silk, are common enough that cautious buyers avoid the category entirely. Verification is the only thing that brings them back.

6

Angles required

Front, full back, fringe, selvedge, folded corner and pile macro. The back and the edges are where construction is proven.

2 to 4

Days to verify

Fiber, knot count, foundation, dye stability, measurement and condition mapping. Then washed and rolled if requested.

Every

Rug, no exceptions

Not a sample, not a spot check. Every certified piece is handled by a person before a buyer takes delivery.

Certified pieces

What a certified listing looks like.

Real inventory, real photography, real prices. Open any piece to see the full record, the certificate and how it packs.

Preview build. Rug identity, size, origin, material and price come from live inventory records. Inspection findings shown on the sample pages are illustrative placeholders, labelled as such, and are not issued certificates.

Founding dealers

Come in early and the terms reflect it.

Founding dealers get preferential commission, an included on site inspection visit for the first batch, photography of that batch, and a storage allowance on anything that does not sell in the first cycle. The specifics depend on your volume, your sizes and your average piece value, so they are quoted in writing rather than published.

We reply within one business day. Nothing is shared with anyone else.
