Trade and supply, a function of World of Oriental Rugs, Inc. Trade terms are quoted. Retail pricing is published.

For the trade

You already know the trade. Here is what we do for it.

Eight services, one company, forty years in one category. If you sell rugs, design with them, run a venue, or weave and export them, there is a version of this that works for you.

One form. A person reads it and replies within one business day.

Three kinds of working relationship

Pick the one that describes you.

Dealers and showrooms

You have a floor and it is not moving fast enough.

Sell into a national buyer pool instead of your own zip code. Hand your wash and repair work to a proper wash floor instead of turning it away. Put your overflow on tubes in climate control instead of in the back room. Have your inventory photographed on your own floor.

  • List inventory nationwide, verified before delivery
  • Consignment when you would rather we ran the sale
  • Wash, repair and restoration as a wholesale service
  • Overflow storage by the piece or by the floor
Designers and venues

You need the right rug for a room, sometimes only for a weekend.

Source vetted pieces with the construction and materials actually stated. Rent for staging, weddings, film and television, product shoots and trade shows. Get client appraisals written by somebody who has handled thousands of rugs.

  • Sourcing against a written brief, not a catalogue dump
  • Rentals for staging and events
  • Client appraisals for insurance and estates
  • Delivery, installation and collection
Suppliers and exporters

You weave or wholesale, and the United States is hard to reach.

Reach American buyers through a channel where certification is the gate, so your work is not competing on price against goods that are misdescribed. Consolidated inbound freight instead of container minimums, so you are not forced to ship more than you have sold.

  • Verified channel into United States buyers
  • Consolidated inbound freight, no container minimum
  • Photography to a standardised capture protocol
  • Certification as the gate, not price alone

What is public and what is not

We publish how it works. We quote what trade volume costs.

Every method on this site is described openly, and retail pricing is public on each service page, because a customer deciding whether to trust us deserves both. Trade terms are a different matter. They depend on your volume, your sizes, your average value and where you are, and a published number would be wrong for almost everybody who read it.

•

Inbound freight consolidation

For suppliers and exporters, including how shipments are grouped and what the certification threshold is.

Why we work this way. A published trade fee schedule is a document your competitors read more carefully than your customers do. Retail pricing is different: the customer paying it should see it, so it is public. For trade volume we would rather quote you a real number for your actual situation than publish an average that is wrong for you and useful to somebody else.

Before you send anything

You cannot software your way into knowing a rug.

Identifying a rug is physical work. You burn a fiber and smell it. You count knots with calipers. You read the back, the fringe and the selvedge. You put a tape on it, because the label is wrong more often than anyone in this trade admits.

The bench

Microscope, calipers, tape, burn test kit, raking light. Fiber and construction are determined, not estimated.

The wash floor

Full immersion capacity with controlled drying. Wool, silk, natural dye and problem cases handled separately.

The warehouse

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Racked tube storage, climate controlled, room for a dealer's entire overflow floor.

Forty years of eyes

The part that cannot be bought. Thousands of rugs handled, and the memory of what each one turned out to be.

The more specific you are about volume, sizes and what is currently not working, the more useful the reply. Terms come back in writing within one business day.
